Type A Everything

“In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth, or to step back into safety. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”

Ted Talks I Dig...

If you don’t know what a TedTalk is then you’re missing out!  TED talks are short videos or talks about “ideas worth spreading.”  TED talks are often informational and always inspirational…all while being 18 minutes or less!

In this first video, Angela Horn, talks about cleaning out her parents possessions, and how this event links to her start of minimalism. She says, “The less you own, the more you have.”  She says more money, more time, and less stress come from minimizing.

This second video is “The Minimalists,” Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus.  They are some of my favorite people to watch, read and listen to! In this video Ryan talks about becoming minimalist. He explains how he packed up all his belongings and only unpacked what he needed as he needed it…spoiler alert:  he owned more than he used.  He outlines the start to his minimalist journey.

A Little About My Journey...

About five years ago I started reading and hearing about minimalism. I don’t know that I ever thought it would be something I could do or even attempt (I was a self-proclaimed shoes goddess with over 120 pairs). But the more I read, the more interested I became.  I must admit that the idea of managing less appealed to me. Since then it’s been a slow and on-going process.  I’m not “done” yet and I still own more than I need, but most notably I find my mind-set is shifting, fewer things, more time, less stress and being more environmentally aware and I’m enjoying that…
